Article Processing Charges (APC)

Open Access and No Publication Fees Policy

TUMI Health Sciences Research does not charge authors any fees at any stage of the editorial or publication process.

Manuscript submission, editorial assessment, peer review, editorial processing, and publication are completely free of charge. The journal does not apply Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, peer-review fees, editorial correction fees, DOI assignment fees, or publication charges.

Journal Funding

All costs associated with the journal’s editorial management and publication activities are fully funded by the Latin American Society of Medical Sciences.

This financial support covers, among other activities:

  • Editorial management of submitted manuscripts.

  • Administration of the peer-review process.

  • Copyediting and editorial preparation.

  • Article layout and production.

  • DOI registration and maintenance.

  • Digital preservation of published content.

  • Maintenance and hosting of the journal’s electronic platform.

  • Dissemination and visibility of published articles.

No Charges for Authors

Authors are not required to make any payment for:

  • Submitting a manuscript.

  • Participating in the peer-review process.

  • Editorial processing or article preparation.

  • Publishing an accepted manuscript.

  • Assigning a DOI to the published article.

  • Accessing, downloading, or sharing published content.

Manuscripts are accepted and published exclusively on the basis of their scientific merit, methodological quality, originality, compliance with ethical principles, and relevance to the journal’s aims and scope.

Editorial Independence

The financial support provided by the Latin American Society of Medical Sciences does not interfere with or influence editorial decisions, reviewer selection, the peer-review process, or decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.

All editorial decisions are the sole responsibility of the journal’s editorial team and are made independently, transparently, and impartially.

Commitment to Open Access

TUMI Health Sciences Research operates under an open-access model with no charges for authors or readers. All published articles are freely available in accordance with the open-access license adopted by the journal.

Through this model, the journal seeks to promote equity in scientific communication, facilitate the participation of researchers from different countries, and contribute to the international dissemination of knowledge in the health sciences.
