Jhair Alexander León Rodríguez, PhD, MSc

Jhair Alexander León Rodríguez is a dental surgeon, health sciences researcher, and Level V RENACYT researcher recognized by Peru’s National Council for Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (CONCYTEC). He holds a doctorate in Clinical and Translational Research from Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego, a master’s degree in Stomatology from Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, and a master’s degree in Research and University Teaching from Universidad Católica de Trujillo. He has also completed master’s-level studies in Public Health at Universidad Nacional de San Martín and is a graduate of the Second Specialty Program in Applied Statistics for Research at Universidad Peruana Unión.

His academic and scientific experience encompasses clinical research, epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, research methodology, evidence-based dentistry, and evidence synthesis. He has served as an author and peer reviewer for scientific journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science and has experience in the design, implementation, statistical analysis, and publication of observational studies, clinical trials, validation studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses.

He is President of the Latin American Society of Medical Sciences and is actively involved in scientific leadership, researcher training, and editorial management. His professional career is focused on strengthening multidisciplinary research, scientific integrity, academic education, and the international dissemination of knowledge in medicine, dentistry, public health, and other areas of the health sciences.

As Editor-in-Chief of TUMI Health Sciences Research, he leads the journal’s scientific and editorial direction, safeguards the independence of editorial decisions, and oversees compliance with international standards for publication ethics, peer review, transparency, research integrity, and methodological quality. His editorial work promotes responsible, rigorous, multidisciplinary, and internationally oriented scientific communication.

External Peer Reviewers

TUMI Health Sciences Research operates a double-blind peer-review system supported by independent national and international external reviewers. Reviewers are selected according to their academic qualifications, methodological expertise, research experience, scientific output, knowledge of the manuscript’s subject area, and absence of conflicts of interest.

External reviewers assess manuscripts independently and confidentially, considering their originality, scientific relevance, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, validity of the results, clarity of reporting, and contribution to medicine and the health sciences. Their reports support editorial decisions regarding acceptance, minor revision, major revision, resubmission, or rejection.

Reviewer identities are not disclosed in connection with specific manuscripts. The journal may publish an annual acknowledgment of participating reviewers while preserving the confidentiality and integrity of the peer-review process at all times.
